Okay so Christmas is coming and you are facing the prospect of coming up with something new and exciting as a present. Photobooks are a great present idea but you can be limited to digital photos taken by you in the last 20 years. Many people have stacks of old photos stored away in old shoe boxes, in a cupboard never seeing the light of day. The answer to this is to get scanning them digitally.
Home digital scanners, flatbed or slide scanners can be an option. Although the quality of home digital scanners means the scans can look blurry as the quality of these scanners is designed for personal (non-professional) use. The problem is the images are the only link we have to the past and we want to preserve and archive these in the best way possible. Home scanners can also take a long time to scan 1 image, making scanning an archive a mammoth task.
